Convergence
Jenkins believed that convergence was the flow of content across multiple media platforms which was depending heavily on consumers active participation. He found that there was several categories of convergence. For example, technology, industry, culture, and social. Basically, we are taking what is popular in a specific time and using that to promote our own business. This is where all the engagement comes from. We are always looking at different medias and when something catches are eye, we immediately are interested in learning more. We are quickly realizing that technology is something we can use for everything we can think of, and it is being used more and more each day.

I agree with your point. Convergence culture is sort of just a result of having information at your fingertips. We just continue to look for more ways to use it.
ReplyDeleteI also think that this engagement is also helpful with having the audience choose what they want to see. There's more involvement and results with the audience having more of a say.
